The team at PCA takes daily measures to reduce our impact on the planet with a zero-waste office plan and "Clyde," our massive fluorescent recycling bin out back. Because we live by the coast, keeping our city and beaches clean is a big deal for us.
During early Earth Week 2021, the PCA team decided to head out for a beach cleanup at Wrightsville Beach, NC, one of our favorite local destinations. The cleanup was hosted by Plastic Ocean Project, a nonprofit that is passionate for helping people learn how to get involved in preserving our local ecosystems.
Not only did we have a great time together as a team, but as a bonus, we set the record for Wrightsville Beach cleanups, picking up 79 pounds of trash in over six miles of walking!
Shoutout to the Plastic Ocean Project for their partnership and the great job they do educating our local community.
Thank you for reading and stay tuned for future blogs where we'll partner on future projects such as tree planting and home building.
