T-Shirt Decoration Methods

Screen printing is the most common method of transferring your ideas and artwork to tees via inks. Screen printing is ideal for vibrant art that is long lasting. Screen printing is perceived as high value and creates positive brand impressions. We sell more screen-printed tees than other style. Ask us about complete tee packages with a pad printed interior neck label and custom hang tags.

DTG printing, or Direct-to-Garment printing, is a method of digitally printing artwork onto tees. DTG is great for small runs of t-shirts and for designs with a lot of small details or many colors. While DTG prints aren’t as vibrant as screen printing, they can produce photo-realistic images extremely well. Direct-to-garment printing is considered more eco-friendly than screen printing and is perfect for one-off samples to ensure your artwork comes out looking the way you want.

Heat Transfers are another option for decorating t-shirts, although not as common as screen-printing or direct-to-garment. Think of heat transfers as a more sophisticated iron-on. Heat transfers literally melt the design into the fabric. DTG is most likely a better solution for your art and our friendly reps will guide you to the right decoration style.

Pad printing is great for small prints, such as interior neck labels in place of those pesky tags. Pad printing a small logo comes out clean and adds a higher perceived value. Let us show you the difference.

If you’re looking for ways to set your brand apart with a 100% custom t-shirt, Port City Apparel offers the unique ability to create a cut and sew program to match your particular design specs. Whether it’s tie-dye, stone wash or big and tall, PCA has an option for you. With no obligation, let us know what you’re thinking.
