Embroidery Machine Operator
Port City Apparel is seeking a skilled Embroidery Machine Operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating embroidery machines, ensuring quality designs, and maintaining production efficiency. This role requires attention to detail, technical knowledge of embroidery equipment, and the ability to troubleshoot minor machine issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, adjust, and operate embroidery machines to produce high-quality embroidered designs on socks, apparel, or other fabric products.
- Read and interpret work orders, design specifications, and thread color sequences.
- Load and unload garments or fabric materials into the embroidery machine.
- Select and change embroidery threads, needles, bobbins, and stabilizers as needed.
- Monitor the embroidery process to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality standards.
- Detect and resolve minor mechanical issues, such as thread breakage, tension problems, or misalignment.
- Perform routine maintenance on embroidery machines, including cleaning and oiling.
- Keep accurate production records and meet daily production targets.
- Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet customer specifications.
- Work collaboratively with production staff, and supervisors to improve efficiency and quality.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Previous experience operating embroidery machines is preferred, but training may be provided for the right candidate.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with embroidery software (such as Wilcom, Pulse, or Melco) is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot design errors and ensure high-quality output.
- Hand-Eye Coordination: Ability to work with small parts and precision.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and make machine adjustments as needed.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and handle fabric materials.
- Teamwork: Willingness to collaborate with colleagues in a fast-paced production environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in textile, apparel, or embroidery production.
- Knowledge of different fabric types and embroidery techniques.
- Basic computer skills for loading embroidery designs and adjusting settings.
